        BCAIB - Building Code Administrators & Inspectors Board

Specific Requirements:

BCAIB
  • 14 Hours during each biennium
     - 2 hours Accessibility
     - 2 hours Florida Laws and Rules
     - 1 hour Ethics

  • Course may be approved through the BCAIB, BOAID, CILB, ECLB, or may be
    a core course through the DCA.
BOAID
  • 20 Hours during each biennium
    - 16 Health, Safety, Welfare Credits
    - 2 hours Specialized or Advanced
         Courses (effective March 2005)
    - 2 hours optional

  • Course must be BOAID approved or
    a core course through the DCA.
CILB
  • 14 Hours during each biennium
    - 1 hour Workplace Safety
    - 1 hour of Workers Compensation

    - 1 hour of Business Practices
    - 1 hour Laws & Rules
    - 1 hour FBC Advanced Module training

  • Courses must be CILB or BCAIB
    approved, or a core course through
    the DCA.
ECLB
  • 14 Hours during each biennium
    - 7 hours of Technical Subjects
    - 1 hour of Workers Compensation
    - 1 hour of Workplace Safety
    - 1 hour of Business Practices
    - 1 hour of Advanced FBC training

  • Course must be ECLB approved, or
    hold dual license with either the
    BCAIB or the CILB, or a core course
    through the DCA.

FBPE
  • 8 Hours during each biennium
    - 4 hours specific to Chapter 471, F.S.
      & 61F15, F.A.C.
    - 4 hours specific to licensee's area of
      practice

  • Course must be FBPE approved, or
    a core course through the DCA.
Fire
  • 40 Hours each triennium
    - Must be approved by the Fire College as
